Mausoleum Ibrahim ata.

Monuments of Sairam.

“For everything in this journey of life we are on, there is a right wing and a left wing: for the wing of love there is anger; for the wing of destiny there is fear; for the wing of pain there is healing; for the wing of hurt there is forgiveness; for the wing of pride there is humility; for the wing of giving there is taking; for the wing of tears there is joy; for the wing of rejection there is acceptance; for the wing of judgment there is grace; for the wing of honor there is shame; for the wing of letting go there is the wing of keeping. We can only fly with two wings and two wings can only stay in the air if there is a balance. Two beautiful wings is perfection. There is a generation of people who idealize perfection as the existence of only one of these wings every time. But I see that a bird with one wing is imperfect. An angel with one wing is imperfect. A butterfly with one wing is dead. So this generation of people strive to always cut off the other wing in the hopes of embodying their ideal of perfection, and in doing so, have created a crippled race”

Tours to Sairam.

The mausoleum of Ibrahim Ata is located on the outskirts of the northwestern part of the village of Sairam, on a high hill, by the road to the village of Aksu. The mausoleum was supposedly built before the XVI - XVII centuries. over the burial of a local sheikh, according to legend - the father of Ahmed Yassawi.
It is one of the earliest surviving monuments of domed mausoleums of medieval architecture. This mausoleum is erected over the grave of the spiritual ruler Sheikh Ibrahim - the father of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. The former mausoleum, having not stood the test of time, collapsed. Built in the mid-XIXth century, the new mausoleum was damaged during the 1950 earthquake when its dome collapsed.
It was restored and faced with sheet white tin with a slight slope, in the center there is a dome with a spire. The area of the mausoleum of Ibrahim-ata is 7 x 7 m, height - 8.25 m. The structure is built on two levels, with one room.
On the south side there is an entrance, on the western side there is a window, set in a wooden frame. At the beginning of the 90s, with funds allocated by the government, the road running along the very walls of the mausoleum was pushed 20 meters to the side, and the architectural monument was strengthened with a layer of earth at the base.
The mausoleum is built of burnt bricks, partially plastered and whitewashed, and has undergone repeated repairs and rebuilds. The single-chamber building is almost square in plan - 7.2 x 7.2 m. The northwestern and southwestern facades are decorated with equivalent portals with small protruding pylons and shallow niches.
An entrance is arranged in the niche of the southwestern portal, and rectangular niches are arranged in the plane of the pylons. In the interior, the dome arch and walls are plastered, the floors are bricked and covered with cement mortar. In ancient Sairam, which in the Middle Ages became one of the places of propaganda of the Islamic religion, many spiritual mentors and scientists lived.
One of them is the father of the illustrious Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Ibrahim-ata, who became the teacher of thousands of murids. The Museum of Sairam contains manuscripts testifying to the noble origin and rich pedigree of this man.
He wrote in the XI century, in an era when Islam found a way to the heart of the people and began to spread more widely. Legends about the holiness of this man and the extraordinary gift of a seer circulated among the people.
