History of creation of thoroughbred horses in Karakol.

Horseback riding in vicinity of city of Karakol.

"The town (Przhevalsk) is not large, but well-organized; everything breathes contentment and prosperity. The houses have rather intricate architecture; you will hardly come across any adobe buildings. There are very solid buildings, such as, for example, the town school, the hospital, etc. There is luxurious greenery everywhere. The town garden of Przhevalsk is an exceptional creation of the human mind and love of gardening."

In 1907, an infantry officer, staff captain of the second Khojent reserve battalion, Viktor Adamovich Pyanovsky, who had managed to found the "Racing Society" in Tashkent, with the funds of which the first Tashkent hippodrome in Turkestan was created, bought an English stallion, Alberton, in Pyatigorsk.
In addition, Viktor Adamovich Pyanovsky stole the daughter and several breeding horses from the Tashkent general Petrakov, apparently as a dowry. The newlywed was an avid horse breeder and, having settled in a new place, began to cross the thoroughbred stallions he had with local mares.Stable of the passionate supporter of cultural horse breeding and equestrian sports officer V. He was the first breeding producer in the entire Issyk-Kul region, from whom the history of the creation of the first highly purebred, new Kyrgyz horse begins. Alberton, Lava Gitaga formed the backbone of a small stud farm founded by Pyanovsky in 1907 in Przhevalsk.
In 1907, it consisted of one stallion (meaning Alberton), 5 mares (2 English thoroughbreds, 2 half-breds and 1 Turkmen) and two half-bred sucklers. The total number of livestock was 8 pieces. Three years later, the plant already had 38 heads, of which 5 stallions and 12 mares were purebred.V.A. 1907 was the beginning of the creation of the Issyk-Kul stud farm of purebred and half-bred English horses in Karakol. Staff Captain Viktor Adamovich Pyanovsky went down in history as a pioneer in the breeding of purebred and half-bred English horses.
His contribution to the development of horse breeding became an important stage in the formation of domestic traditions of selection and breeding of thoroughbred racehorses. Possessing deep knowledge of horse breeding and understanding the need to improve breed qualities, V.A. Pyanovsky founded the first specialized stud farm.Monument on the grave of V.A. Pyanovsky at the hippodrome in Karakol. 1960s. Author unknown.
Here, work was carried out to improve and adapt English breeds to local conditions. Thanks to his work, outstanding horses appeared that had endurance, speed and excellent working qualities. The organization of the stud farm under the leadership of Pyanovsky played an important role in the development of horse breeding, military and sports equestrian business.
The farm became an example of effective breeding work, and the breeds bred there were used both in the cavalry and in competitions. The legacy of Viktor Adamovich Pyanovsky continued to develop, having a significant influence on subsequent generations of horse breeders.
His contribution to horse breeding remains an important page in the history of domestic livestock breeding. Viktor Adamovich Pyanovsky, at his own expense, built a hippodrome in the city and laid the foundation for thoroughbred horse breeding in Semirechye.Stands of the city hippodrome. 1968. A notable event in the socio-cultural life of Priissyk-Kulye was the opening of a hippodrome in Przhevalsk in 1909 on the initiative of the spouses V. A. Pyanovsky and E. A. Petrakova, with the active assistance of Ya. I. Korolkov and other members of the Racing Society, transformed in 1911 into the "Society for the Encouragement of Horse Breeding and Horse Breeding".
Also in 1909, the "Encouraging Racing Society" was established, with whose funds a hippodrome was built in 1910. In 1910, a state stud farm was opened, which had branches in many resettlement villages of the Issyk-Kul region. In 1914, a stud farm was opened in Osh.
