Tashkent – Samarkand - Nurata - Bukhara - Karshi - Shakhrisabz - Boysun - Termez - Samarkand - Tashkent.

Program of the summit “Alexander Great Dialogue Between East and West”:

Company «Silk Road Adventures» scientifically supported  by the International Institute For Central Asian Studies (IICAS) holds Summit «Alexander Great: Dialogue between East and West» on 12 - 19 October 2019 in Uzbekistan and organizes in  its frames an expedition to historical sites of Hellenistic period.
The goal of the  Summit is to establish contacts between scholars and lovers of ancient culture, present geographical landscapes and material evidence of the Eastern campaign of Alexander the Great, to initiate dialogue on the role of his personality in the history of East and West.
The expedition will travel along the key Hellenistic archaeological sites in central and southern Uzbekistan, get acquainted with the museum artifacts, conduct "round table"  meetings with scientists and ethnographers of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Termez and Shakhrisabz.      
Working languages ​​are English and Russian.All responsibility for reception and service for summit participants  bears «Silk Road Adventures».
The Summit Program timing is based on summit participants arrival in Tashkent on 12 October and  their departure from Tashkent at night  on 19 - 20 October.
Standard terms of participation is 7 days / 7 nights service including accommodation in hotels *** in double rooms, catering service FB, transportation from arrival at airport to departure by the railroad in economy class.
Cost of participation - 1550 USD, including 100 USD - registration fee. Accommodation in  single room is 250 USD extra charge.

Day 1. October 12 (Saturday).
Arrival of  summit participants in Tashkent. Overnight - hotel in Tashkent.
Day 2. October 13 (Sunday) - Expedition "Samarkand".
07.00 - 09.10 – transfer «Tashkent-Samarkand» («Afrasiab» train).
09.45 - 10.30 – opening of the summit (IICAS). Introduction of participants and program.
10.30 - 17.00 – acquaintance with Hellenistic monuments and museum collections in Samarkand, region (Afrasiab, Kuk-Tepa).
17.00 - 18.30 – walk along Samarkand. Acquaintance with medieval monuments.
20.00 - 21.00 – evening dialogues in chaykhona (teahouse). Overnight - hotel in Samarkand.
Day 3. October 14 (Monday) - Expedition "Samarkand – Nurata - Bukhara"

08.30 - 09.15 – visiting monuments of Hellenistic period in Nurata district of Navoi region.
09.15 - 11.30 – transfer «Nurata - Bukhara».

15.30 - 18.30 – acquaintance with Hellenistic monuments of Surkhandarya region (near Termez). Visiting to Termez archaeological museum.

Day 7. October 18 (Friday) – Samarkand.

10.00 - 11.00 - plenary part of the summit (IICAS). Outcomes of expedition travel
11.15 - 12.45 - dialogues in the sections.
14.00 - 18.30 -  visiting the Urgut district of Samarkand region (probable place of the ancient hunting park "paradise", Urgut,  canyon before the pass  Takhta-Karacha).
19.00 - 21.00 – dinner and conversation by the fire in the foothills of the Zarafshan  range (Agalyk). Overnight - hotel in Samarkand.
Day 8. October 19 (Saturday) - Samarkand
06.00 - 08.30 – meeting sunrise on the citadel Marakanda (Afrasiab).
10.00 - 12.30 – plenary part of the summit (IICAS). Summery and closing of the summit.
14.30 - 17.00 – free time. Visiting to Siab bazaar.
17.00 - 19.10 – transfer «Samarkand - Tashkent» (by «Afrasiab» train). Departure from Tashkent summit participants.
