Fortification of Karabutak.
Trip to Karabutak settlement in Aktybinsk province.
“For everything in this journey of life we are on, there is a right wing and a left wing: for the wing of love there is anger; for the wing of destiny there is fear; for the wing of pain there is healing; for the wing of hurt there is forgiveness; for the wing of pride there is humility; for the wing of giving there is taking; for the wing of tears there is joy; for the wing of rejection there is acceptance; for the wing of judgment there is grace; for the wing of honor there is shame; for the wing of letting go there is the wing of keeping. We can only fly with two wings and two wings can only stay in the air if there is a balance. Two beautiful wings is perfection. There is a generation of people who idealize perfection as the existence of only one of these wings every time. But I see that a bird with one wing is imperfect. An angel with one wing is imperfect. A butterfly with one wing is dead. So this generation of people strive to always cut off the other wing in the hopes of embodying their ideal of perfection, and in doing so, have created a crippled race”

The historical past of the area is directly connected with Karabutak in the territory of whom in 1847 strengthening Karabutak, around a river confluence Irgiz in Karabutak was originally constructed. Karabutak a fort on a half of a way from Orsk fortress to the Ural strengthening.
The laying of a fort occurred on May 13 - 14, 1848, construction the shtabs-captain K. I. Gern directed. In the summer of 1848 construction of a fort on the river of Karabutake was entrusted to it; he received for execution of this assignment on December 24 St. Anna's award of the 2nd degree.
Exactly here the close acquaintance of T. Shevchenko with future friend K.I. Gern took place. T. Shevchenko's water colors published under the name "Fort Karabutak" executed, most likely, in 1849 - 1850 upon return to Orenburg are known.
The name of strengthening was interpreted on a local rekchka Karabutak which can be translated with Kazakh as "a black channel", i.e. water with ground, landlocked water. The granite massif which is nearby stretched on three kilometers with freakish forms of aeration of granites, under the name Shongol (Shangal) is of interest.
It is an interesting natural complex in the steppe.
