The Historical and Cultural Center of the First President was opened on November 22, 2011 in the city of Temirtau with the participation of the Head of State - Leader of the Nursultan Nazarbayev. The museum is a three-level building, has a diameter of 48 meters, a height of 15.59 meters, and the total area of ​​all rooms is 4526 square meters.
The historical and cultural center of the First President consists of 6 exhibition halls.
I. Independent of Kazakhstan.
The exposition hall provides an opportunity to show all the achievements of Kazakhstan since the establishment of the Independent Republic. In the center of the hall is a model of Astana - the capital of Kazakhstan, made on a scale of 1: 1000.
The layout shows all the legendary architectural objects that form the face of the Kazakh capital - Ak Orda, the Palace of Peace and Accord, Baiterek, the memorial complex “Cossack ate”, “Khan Shatyr”, the Palace of Creativity “Shabyt”, Independence Square, the Hazret Sultan Mosque and many others.
A monumental painting is placed on the central wall of the hall. The first half is devoted to the labor biography of the Head of State associated with the Kazakhstan Magnitogorsk. The second - to modern Kazakhstan, a peaceful, strong, prosperous state.
The most important attributes of the statehood of the Republic of Kazakhstan are presented in the windows - Flag, Coat of Arms, Anthem; national currency - tenge of the first issue; unique photographs depicting the events of recent history of Kazakhstan.
II. The son of his time.
In the center of the hall is the diorama "Ushkonyr", recreating the places in which the President’s childhood passed. The beautiful steppe landscape was recreated based on the film “The Sky of My Childhood”. The windows show the family tree of the Shapyrashty family - the ancestors of Nursultan Nazarbayev, household items of the Kazakh people, models of a house in the village of Chemolgan, where the future president lived with his parents, and technical school No. 8 in Dneprodzerzhinsk, in which he received professional education.
Also, visitors can familiarize themselves with photographs telling about Nazarbayev’s school and student years, commendation sheets and a job offer to the Domenstroy construction department. In the hall there is also a red arch with the inscription "Kazakhstan Magnitogorsk is being built here - the shock construction site of the country."
Such arches stood at all entrances to the city of Temirtau in the 50 - 60s. Twentieth century.
III. The phenomenon of personality “The history of Magnitogorsk, the history of Temirtau, the fate of people is inseparable from my fate.
If in my life there had been no Magnitogorsk and Temirtau, I would never have become President, ”said Nursultan Abishevich during his visit to Temirtau. Photos in the windows show the construction of the largest metallurgical enterprise. In the hall there is a billboard with posters, newspapers, posters of the 50s of the last century.
In 1962, Nursultan Abishevich creates a family. The electronic framework contains photographs of the Nazarbayev’s young family, during their student days, with colleagues and colleagues. A video chronicle about the construction of the Kazakhstan Magnitogorsk and the formation of the ferrous metallurgy of Kazakhstan is shown on the screen.
On July 3, 1960, the blast furnace of the metallurgical plant produced the first Kazakhstani pig iron. This date becomes the birthday of the Karaganda Metallurgical Plant. The window shows the first ingot of Kazakh cast iron, an emergency issue of the newspaper Leninskaya Smena, telling about a significant event. Also, visitors can see the Overalls for the hearth - it is made of thick cloth and sewn with reinforced threads.
IV. Steel profile of Kazakhstan.
 The hall reproduces the atmosphere of metallurgical production and gives visitors the opportunity to be inside the enterprise. In the center of the hall, on the right side, there is a model of a metallurgical plant, where all the main industries are represented.
Agglomeration and coke production are the initial stages; Here iron ore processing and coking of coal takes place, then sinter and coke are loaded into a blast furnace, where, under the influence of high temperatures, pig iron is formed during chemical reactions.
To produce steel, scrap and molten iron are loaded into the converter. Oxygen purging contributes to carbon burnout. The result is steel. Liquid steel is fed into the mold of a continuous casting machine, where slabs are obtained, which are then rolled in sheet rolling workshops to a predetermined thickness.
In the center of the hall, on the left side, are models of slabs and finished products, followed by a sample of working clothes of a worker of ArcelorMittal JSC.
V. In the stream of time.
The windows showcase photographic materials and documents characterizing the active political activities of the future President. Photographic materials and documents reveal the history of the development of the Carmet Plant and the city of Temirtau in the period 1972 - 1977.
The exposition contains documents relating to different periods of activity of Nursultan Nazarbayev. They were prepared by the Center’s researchers based on the results of research and prospecting in the archives of the cities of Temirtau, Karaganda and Almaty.
In the hall are models of the Palace of Culture and Technology of Metallurgists; factory, swimming pool "Dolphin" (now - "Zhastar"), a monument to the soldiers-Samarkants who died during the Great Patriotic War. In the information panels, visitors to the Center can track the chronology of political events.
VI. Kazakhstan way.
In the center of the hall is a bas-relief depicting the history of Kazakhstan - from the first cave paintings to the present day. The center of the artistic composition is a fragment of the sculptural ensemble "Cossack Fir", symbolizing the desire of Kazakhstan people to further development and prosperity.
25 years is a short time, but for a young state it is a time of coming of age. The period of independence is rich in cardinal changes and events. Over a quarter century of independence, the face of the country has changed. Visitors to the Center will be able to get acquainted with the successes and achievements thanks to the interactive map.
Each year opens a series of important events, presenting the annals of independence. On interactive panels, visitors can get information on the most significant dates in the political, economic and socio-cultural life of sovereign Kazakhstan.
