Tomb of saint Kuyeutam is located at an altitude of 184 meters above sea level, is located on a low hill, 262 meters from Ozen - Beket ata road, 1.8 kilometers northwest of necropolis Shopan ata, 9 kilometers northeast of Ulkuduk valley, 22 kilometers north of village of Senek, 48.9 kilometers northeast of city of Ozen, 37.3 kilometers northwest of Mount Bokty in Karakiya district of Mangistau region.
This is one of the significant monuments of the sacred geography of the Mangistau region, located in its central part. This place is revered as a shrine and is associated with the name of Kuyeutam - a spiritual mentor who lived in the XVIIIth - XIXth centuries.
Historical and cultural significance of Kuyeutam Tomb of saint.
Kuyeutam was known as a sage and spiritual leader whose deeds left a deep mark on the history of the region. Tomb of saint erected in his honor has become a place of pilgrimage for many believers seeking to honor the memory of the saint and to address him with prayers.
The monument was discovered by employees of the State Institution "Mangistau State Historical and Cultural Reserve" in 2004. It is included in the preliminary list of historical and cultural heritage sites in the Mangistau region.
Architectural features of Kuyeutam Tomb of saint.
The mazar is a traditional structure for the region, made of local stone. Its architecture reflects the features of the sacred buildings of Mangistau: an arched entrance and minimalist decor, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the place. The Kuyeutam mausoleum is a square structure faced with processed slabs. The walls are decorated with images of handprints and palms, various domestic animals, a saber and a dagger.
