“The Vakhsh ridge, a little-studied mountain range in the Tajik Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, east of the Vakhsh river. The general direction is from north-east to south-west, in the north it rises above the snow line (passes from 2600 to .3700 meters above sea level), merging with the southwestern spurs of the Darvaz Range, gradually lowering, ends in the southwest near the right bank of the Amu Darya with several, almost treeless and waterless ridges. The local name of the Vakhsh ridge is Dzhilany-tau, its probable length is about 150 kilometers. Belongs to the Pamir-Alai mountain system
