Excursion to monuments of Karakol.

Monument to A. S. Pushkin is located at an altitude of 1770 meters above sea level, is located in eastern part of city park of culture and recreation, on Tynystanov street, corner of Derbishev, in city of Karakol, Issyk-Kul region. 
A monument to the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin was erected in Karakol. The monument was placed in the city park of culture and recreation, which bears his name. The bronze sculpture depicts the poet in a classical image - leaning on the pulpit, from where he recited his poems.
Pushkin's gaze is directed into the distance, as if he is reflecting on his works. The pedestal is decorated with quotes from his poems, symbolizing the eternal power of the poetic word. The installation of the monument has become a significant event for the city, emphasizing respect for the cultural heritage.
Literary evenings, meetings and creative events dedicated to Russian classics and A.S. Pushkin himself are often held here. On December 11, 2015, the grand opening of the monument to the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin took place in Karakol.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Temir Sariev, Governor of the Issyk-Kul Region Emilbek Kaptagaev, Minister of Culture and Tourism Altynbek Sulaimanov, Minister of Education Elvira Sarieva, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Andreevich Krutko.
The bronze monument was created by sculptor Marlen Bakachiev and architect Sabyr Mayanbekov. The financing of the production and installation of the monument was provided by the Chairman of the Board of OJSC Rosinbank Evgeny Nemerinsky together with other sponsors.
This monument became the second in Kyrgyzstan dedicated to the great poet. The first was installed in 1999 in front of the main educational building of the Kyrgyz-Slavic University in Bishkek and was made of stone.
