Kusein Karasayev Museum is located at an altitude of 1650 meters above sea level, is located on territory of museum and memorial complex of N.M. Przhevalsky and K. Karasayev at an altitude, in eastern part of village of Pristan Przhevalsky, 12 kilometers southwest of city of Karakol, 609 meters from Przhevalsky Bay (Lake Issyk-Kul), 1.5 kilometers from mouth of Karakol River, on territory subordinate to city administration of city of Karakol, Issyk-Kul region.
The construction of the museum dedicated to the linguist Kusein Karasaev began in May 2012 in honor of his 110th anniversary. The total cost was 54,000,000 soms. The project was financed by the Issyk-Kul Region Development Fund and the Karakol City Hall.
The grandchildren of the outstanding lexicologist also provided significant assistance in creating the museum. The grand opening of the museum took place on September 20, 2013 and was timed to coincide with the State Language Day of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event was attended by deputies of various levels, representatives of the district and city administration, public figures, diasporas, as well as the scientist's family. The honorable right to cut the red ribbon and make the first entry in the guest book was granted to Kusein Karasaev's widow, Aisha Karasayeva, who was 101 years old at the time.
She spent her entire long life (103 years) next to her husband, sharing his path for 70 years. The exhibition of the memorial museum recreates the atmosphere of Kusein Karasayev's study. Among the exhibits presented are his scientific works, personal documents, photographs, household items and family heirlooms.
