Alkozha ata mausoleum.

Tours in cities of Kazakhstan.

“O tribe of writers! The world seduces your ears with a hum of temptations like the buzzing of flies. Who are your poets if not the inhabitants of the darkness - prowling wolves, whose food is praise and blasphemy. They are more harmful than invaders who sow fear like greedy rats, they steal in the mountains"

Maarri al-Maarri.

Air tours in Kazakhstan.

Alkozha ata mausoleum is located at an altitude of 213 meters above sea level, located 1.4 kilometers southeast of mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, between A. Tutkabaev streets, No. 30, 2nd Alshyn street and K. Ryskulbekova, in town of Turkestan Turkestan region.
The monument, consisting of a burial vault, a zhamagatkhana and a shed, was built of burnt bricks. These rooms are covered with a dome, window openings are installed on four sides. The canopy was cut from four brick edges. In 1997 - 1999 restoration work was carried out, preserving its architectural features.
The myths and legends say that Alkozha ata was the son-in-law of Khoja Ahmed Yasavi, that is, the husband of Gaukhar, the daughter of a Sufi. In one of these legends, Alkozha was one of the closest friends of the Prophet, a follower and one of the respected people of Islam - Abu Bakr Siddyk.
One of them is Zhakyp leather, the second is Abdimalik leather. Upon the arrival of the brothers in Turkestan, the elder brother went to the lower reaches of the Syr Darya and settled in the city of Ozgen. And Abdimalik ata remained in Turkestan.
It is said that Abdumalik ata served in the madrasah of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, performed the Hajj with Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. At one time, Abdimalik ata was considered one of the authoritative people in the Turkestan region.
Khoja Ahmed Yasawi also highly appreciated his contribution to Islam.
Soon he got involved with him, and gave his daughter Gauhan in marriage to the son of Abdimalik Alkozha. Alkozha ata was one of the favorite students of Ahmed Yasawi. It is said that he had the ability to heal people. If you believe in the legends told, at that time water was dripping from the turquoise that was on the top of the mausoleum. In turn, water dripped onto the second turquoise that was on the bottom.
At the top of the turquoise is a cup-shaped opening. It was believed that a person who drinks this water was cured of all diseases. Turquoise was brought to the front of the mausoleum. The fate of the turquoise from the upper part of the mausoleum is unknown.
Apparently, she was lost in troubled times, when the mausoleum was destroyed. The mausoleum of Alkozha ata was unattended several years ago. At present, the mausoleum of Alkozha ata has been reconstructed and opened for prayer readings, it is used as a mosque for local residents.
In 2016, at the initiative of the Azret Sultan reserve-museum, the land in front of the mausoleum was planned and the garden was ennobled. For tourists visiting the mausoleum, lamps and special benches are installed. In the near future, it is planned to make it a cultural and tourist destination.
