"History abhors frivolity,
Her folk path is difficult.
Her blood-stained pages
You can't love with thoughtless love
And you can't not love without memory"

Tours historical sights of Ulytau.

The archaeological complex Aybas-Darasy is located 588 meters from the right (northern) bank of the Sarykuz River, 390 meters from the Aybas necropolis, 11.5 kilometers southeast of Lake Kenebai, in the northwest of the Ulytau and Edyge mountains at 13.3 kilometers to the west and slightly south of the village of Ulytau in the Ulytau district of the Ulytau region.
The complex is represented by monuments of different times: a Neolithic site, a burial ground and a settlement of the Bronze Age, mounds of the early Iron Age and the Middle Ages, as well as a late medieval settlement.
The burial ground was discovered by the Central Kazakhstan Archaeological Expedition (TsKAE) in 1946, and partially explored in 1972 by A.Kh. Margulan. Research work in the settlement of ancient metallurgists of the Bronze Age at the Aybas-Darasy burial ground in the Ulytau region was continued in 2004 as part of the Cultural Heritage program of the Central Kazakhstan Archaeological Expedition of the A. Margulan Institute of Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The most representative monument of the complex is the Aybas Darasy mound-fence, a stone sub-square structure oriented with corners to the cardinal points. The length of the outer walls of the fence is on average 11.5 - 11.8 meters, the walls are laid with masonry in several rows, inside the structure there is a stone box made of vertically placed granite slabs, the length of the walls of the box is from 2.7 to 2.9 meters.
The space between the box and the outer walls is divided into radial sectors by partitions, the floor inside the sectors is paved with stone. On the northeast side, there is a symbolic passage from the wall to the box.
According to A.Kh. Margulan's definition, the mound-fence belongs to the Begazy-Dandybaevskaya culture and dates back to the Late Bronze Age.
