Cathedral of Resurrection of Christ in Kokshetau.

Orthodox churches in town of Kokshetau.

“Just as the earthly path of the Savior was filled with labors and sacrificial love for people, so we are called to become like Him in serving our neighbors. After all, any, even the smallest virtue, overcoming one's own egoism for the sake of another person brings us closer to God - the Source of life and immortality, and therefore makes us happier.

Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus'. Easter of Christ, 2023.

The cathedral was built in the traditions of Russian church architecture of the middle of the 19th century, but using the latest technologies and using modern high-quality materials. According to the typological solution, the temple being designed as a “ship” canonically refers to a four-pillar, three-dimensional temple with a refectory and a bell tower.
Each nave of the temple has its own throne with an altar, temple space and vestibules. Accordingly, the middle part, the northern and southern aisles differ. In general, the plan of the temple forms a composition of a six-pointed cross, which is adjoined along the main axes by the semicircles of the central altar, the porticos of the entrances with porches, and along the diagonal axes of the altar and the vestibules of the aisles.
The spaces of the vestibules of the temple, as well as its three prayer halls, are united along the south-north axes into transepts. The bell tower at the base is a regular square shape. To the south and north of the vestibule under the bell tower there is a kiosk and a staircase to the choirs and bells.
Between the vestibules and the middle part of the temple, under a deep balcony, there is a refectory. The temple has five domes in the form of hemispheres on cylindrical drums. All domes are crowned with pedestal eight-pointed crosses.
The altar is crowned with a separate pedestal cross. The inner space of the temple is subject to the idea of identifying two axes: horizontal (the entrance is the altar, west-east) and vertical (the center of the temple is the skufia of the dome), as well as their intersection (amphalos), symbolizing the meeting of Heaven and Earth (Mountain and Dolny). Inside the temple is painted by artists from the city of Volgodonsk (Russian Federation, Rostov region).

The height of the dome with the cross is 46 meters, the length is 46 and the width is 28.4 meters.
Near the temple there is a Sunday school with a total area of 811 square meters.
The bell tower has a three-part vertical construction and is completed with a spire with a cross on a spherical calvary. The northern and southern parts of the lower volume of the bell tower are crowned on three-pitched roof-linings with four Calvary eight-pointed crosses.
A set of twelve bells with a total weight of about 4.5 tons was cast with the blessing of His Grace Serapion in the city of Tutaev (Yaroslavl region, Russia) at Italmas LLC, the bell factory of Nikolai Shuvalov, with donations from benefactors of the Kokshetau diocese.
The largest bell weighs 2 tons and is decorated with sacred images of the Savior, the Most Holy Theotokos, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir.
