Nurkamal Zhetikashkayeva is an outstanding Kyrgyz Soviet poetess and actress, known as the first poetess of Kyrgyzstan. Since 1946 she was a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR. Her work began to be published in 1937, and it became a symbol of the first steps of women's poetry in the country.
Biography and education of Nurkamal Zhetikashkayeva:
She was born in the village of Zhylamysh, Sokuluk district, into a peasant family. In 1933 she graduated from the workers' faculty in Frunze. In 1936-1941, she studied at the Moscow Theatre Institute named after A. V. Lunacharsky, becoming one of the first girls from Kyrgyzstan to receive higher education in Moscow

After completing her studies, Nurkamal devoted herself to art and literature. She worked as an actress at the Kyrgyz Drama Theatre. She was a research fellow at the Institute of Language, Literature and History. She headed the Republican House of Folk Art.
