Karaganda Palace of Culture of Miners.
Excursion and trip in Karaganda.
“Cities were always like people, showing their varying personalities to the traveler. Depending on the city and on the traveler, there might begin a mutual love, or dislike, friendship, or enmity. Where one city will rise a certain individual to glory, it will destroy another who is not suited to its personality. Only through travel can we know where we belong or not, where we are loved and where we are rejected”
Roman Payne.

The construction of the Karaganda Palace of Culture of Miners was begun in 1940 according to the project of local architects I. Brenner and Y. Yanosh. With the outbreak of World War II, construction was temporarily suspended.
At the end of 1950, the central parts of the Karaganda Palace of Culture of Miners were commissioned. In 1952, the Gornyakov Culture House was fully commissioned. The Karagandazhilstroy Trust (manager A. Maslov) and the Stalin Construction Directorate (manager Pai) built a complex and highly responsible facility.
The ceiling painting is carried out by highly professional monumental painters of the Moscow decorative association of artists (artists K. A. Tutevol and Aksenov) on the theme of friendship of people of different nationalities. The auditorium of the palace is decorated with stucco Kazakh ornaments based on drawings by Kazakh artist Sharil Tugembaev.
The Karaganda Palace of Culture of Miners is a symmetrical composition of three volumes. The central volume of the palace consists of a theater complex - an auditorium with 1000 seats, an entrance hall, upper and lower foyers, upper and lower side lobbies.
In the architectural image of the building, the influence of progressive forms of Kazakh folk art is felt. The central part of the building is a powerful six-columned portico, consisting of eight faceted columns, leaning against the pylons far removed from the main wall.
These pylons are connected to the walls with openwork ganch arches of lancet form. The portico entablature is crowned with six sculptures: a miner, a builder, a shepherd with a lamb, a collective farmer with a sheaf, akyn with a dombra and a warrior. Wing risalits are decorated with niches topped with lancet arches.
The building is plastered with colored stone plaster, the base and pylons are faced with granite. An openwork ganch wall separating the checkout lobby from the lower foyer and decorated with silhouettes of dancers, shiny artificial marble walls in the lower foyer, marble stairs with bronze railings, dome painting, crystal chandeliers, comfortable and beautiful furniture, carpets, paintings, bronze sculptural groups. Almost all holidays are held in the building of the Karaganda Palace of Culture of Miners. On the stage, the Karaganda Palace of Culture of Miners settled the Kazakh Drama Theater and the Theater of Musical Comedy. The total volume of the building is 70,000 cubic meters.
The central one consists of a theater complex - an auditorium with 1000 seats, an entrance hall, an upper and lower foyer, upper and lower side lobbies.
