Zhirensakal peak or Komsomol peak - the highest point of the Karkaraly national park is located in the southern part of the Karkaraly mountains in the Karkaraly district of the Karaganda region in the west of the Komissarovskoye tract.
The height of Zhirensakal peak is 1403 meters above sea level. In the southwest of the peak is Mount Shanai, 1,978 meters above sea level. The top of Zhirensakal is crowned by three huge stone "towers". In the times of the Cossack village this rock mass was called “Boarish Shish”, because in the vicinity there were wild boars that are found here and now.
In 1936, 100 young men and women climbed the dominant peak of the Karkaraly mountains and gave the peak its name - Komsomol peak.
