"Come with me, come on, let's go
To the land of forgotten childhood dreams.
The squirrel is waiting with golden nuts,
Snow White is looking out the window"

Yuri Kukin. "Come on, let's eat."

Multi-day tourist routes in mountains of Northern Tien-Shan.

"Medeu" valley is located at an altitude of 1520 to 1750 meters above sea level, in middle part of Maloalmatinsky gorge, on northern slope of Zailiysky Alatau ridge in Medeu district of Almaty. "Medeu" is surrounded by mountain spurs: in the east and northeast Komissarovsky, separating the basins of the Malaya Almaatinka and Butakovka rivers and the Kabyrgatau spur, separating the gorges of the Kim-Asar and Sarysay rivers, in the southwest - the Kumbel spur.
In the west is Mokhnataya Sopka, 2280 meters above sea level. The "Medeu" valley has been located in the Medeu district within the city limits of Almaty since 1980. A picturesque valley, located 15 kilometers to the south, leads to the valley.
A well-maintained, asphalt road leads from Almaty to the valley. In addition to the natural attractions of the tract, there are other interesting structures here, giving the tract an unforgettable look, without which we cannot imagine it. The geographical position of the "Medeu" valley, located in the forest-steppe and mountain forest zones of the soil and vegetation cover of the Zailiysky Alatau ridge, determined its mountainous climatic features.
The average temperature in June is +18.1 C, in January - 4.3 C. When rising above 1400 meters above sea level, the drop in average annual air temperature is about 0.66 C (for every 100 meters of altitude). The period of negative temperature is 5 - 7 months, the duration of the frost-free period is 151 days, 1596 hours of sunshine per year.
Atmospheric pressure is 610 - 630 mm. Average annual air humidity is 50 - 55%, 843 mm of precipitation. Mountain-valley winds are observed. The average annual water temperature in the Malaya Almaty River is 5.1 C. 21,000 hectares of forests are allocated for the recreation area, where aspen, Tien-Shan spruce, hawthorn, rowan, birch and other plants grow.
The bed of the Kimasar River, which is a right tributary of the Malaya Almatinka River, is stabilized from possible mudflows; a cascade of hydraulic structures preventing the formation of mudflows has been created on the river.
