The necropolis Ushkan ata is located in 50 kilometers to the southeast from the city of Kulsary, Zhylyoysky district of the Atyrau region.
The name of a necropolis happens from the Saint buried here Ushkan ata. According to a legend, the scientist and the clairvoyant Ushkan ata died during a campaign on offenders who killed his relatives.
There are also other versions in which there were three, or bloody events between Kalmyks-torguts and Kazakhs in the XVIIIth century.
The necropolis consists of more than 200 burials.
