On it photos of a market in Samarkand from Paul Nadar's photos which were prepared by it during 1890 will be presented to a page. Nadar gets acquainted with Samarkand, Khiva, Bukhara and Merv. Mosques, mausoleums, enchanting landscapes, crowds on markets, the falconry, sands of deserts, oil fields, modern types and people adhering still to an antiquated way of life - everything becomes an object of its interest.
Paul Nadar's photo report is one of the first "big reportings" in the history of the photo. The places removed by Nadar represented also absolutely other look in 1890, from its reporting the documentary evidence of huge value about the region at the end of the XIXth century.
Nadar photographs the street, congestions and life on brisk market squares, vagrant dealers, leisure of nomads and new city society, the families playing children. He removes portraits of local heads, in particular the emir of Bukhara to whom he devoted the whole series of pictures.
