Zhakuda Ishan Mosque is located at an altitude of 317 meters above sea level, located 90 meters from the right (western) bank of the Terisbutak River, 4 kilometers southeast of Mount Akzhal 367 meters above sea level, 19 kilometers (by road) and 15.6 kilometers (in a straight line) to the east and slightly south of the village of Korgasyn, 16 kilometers to the south of the small village of Mayatas, in the Ulytau district in the west of the region of the same name. 
This mosque, which, among other things, housed a madrasah, was built in the second half of the XIXth century by a man named Zhakud. It should be noted that the title ishan has always been used to refer to the leaders of Sufi brotherhoods, but sometimes, in particular in Central Asia, it could also be used to simply refer to representatives of a family descended from the Prophet Muhammad.
The walls of the mosque have survived to this day, as well as the minaret (which you can climb), but there is no roof. The building has been restored several times. Mosques-madrassas of a similar design can be found in other parts of Ulytau (another good example is the previously mentioned Dulygaly mosque, also built by the “ishan”), as well as to the west, that is, in other words, on both sides of the Torgai trough.
According to local residents, the bricks for the mosque were prepared and fired near the construction site of the mosque. The mosque is located in a picturesque location near the water in the valley of the Terisbutak River.
130 meters northwest of the mosque there is an ancient necropolis. The mosque is surrounded by a metal fence. From the mosque, 12 kilometers to the northwest, the multi-colored clay chinks of Akzhar begin, most of which is located on the territory of the Kostanay region.
