In 2010 on an Independence Day the three-storyed building of the historical and cultural and ethnographic center of 4 600 square meters is opened in Turkestan. In the center there are 8 exposition halls, a conference room, workshops of handicraftsmen, rooms for research work of historians.
The building of the historical and cultural and ethnographic center is located close to Hodzhi Ahmed Yasavi mausoleum. The building is built on the project of the architect Gabit Sadyrbayev. The author's group under the leadership of professor Amanzhol Naymanbayev was engaged in development of the concept and creation of an exposition of the museum.
A task of the historical and cultural and ethnographic center - studying of history of Turkestan and its role in the history of Kazakhstan. Money for construction and equipment of the center - 747 000 000 tenges - was allocated from the budget Is southern the Kazakhstan area.
The project of the building is developed taking into account current trends in the field of museum and exhibition business. In the opening day of the historical and cultural and ethnographic center in a conference room the presentation of the first 15 volumes of the historical and cultural encyclopedia "Kazynalyk Ontustik" took place.
The unabridged edition will make 200 volumes. On the first floor the souvenir shop is open.
