Khorasan Ata Mausoleum is located on territory of an ancient necropolis, at an altitude of 161.4 meters above sea level, located on edge of eastern part of Kyzylkum desert, 22.4 kilometers southeast of village of Zhanaryk and 14.7 kilometers south of village of Baykenzhe , 32 kilometers southwest of village of Zhanakorgan in Zhanakorgan district of Kyzylorda region.
Information sources contain exact dates for the construction of the Khorasan Ata mausoleum in the XIXth century, from 1890 to 1898. Author – A. Babazhanuly. Later, a mosque was built on the territory of the necropolis, which was destroyed during the years of Soviet power. In 2005, the mausoleum was restored.
The mausoleum consists of two parts. The volumetric area of the mausoleum is approximately 760 cubic meters. The mausoleum is built of baked bricks and is 16.35 meters long and 8.20 meters wide. The height of one of the two domes is 14 meters.
On the south-eastern side of the Khorasan Ata mausoleum is the mausoleum of Useyin (Khusain Ata), the son of Khorasan Ata. 170 meters west of the Khorasan Ata mausoleum is one of the most unusual structures in the country - a copy of the Kaaba, sacred to all Muslims.
Next to the Kaaba there is a well with sacred water. It is believed that the water from this well is healing and cures many diseases. The local population sacredly honors the memory of Khorasan ata. Crowds of pilgrims and tourists flock here. he Khorasan ata mausoleum is an architectural and historical monument of local importance.
The Khorasan Ata Mausoleum and its surroundings are well landscaped. On the territory of the mausoleum, a garden of 5 hectares with fruit trees was planted, there is a hotel, a dormitory for 50 people, a dining room for 1000 people, and a museum of the history of Islam.
