Excursion Darbaza valley Aksu-Zhabagly. 

Rocky "gate" of Darbaza is located at an altitude of 1840 meters above sea level, in gorge of Baldabrek River, on territory of Aksu-Zhabagly National Nature Reserve, on territory of Tolebi District of Turkestan Region. 
Darbaza is located on the western slope of the Ugam Range, 1.3 kilometers southeast of the cordon of the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve, located on the right bank of the Baldabrek River, 15.5 kilometers from the beginning of the sources of the Baldabrek River, the length of which is 48 kilometers and is a right tributary of the Sairam-Su River.
Darbaza, one of the most impressive natural objects in the reserve. A peculiar gate more than 100 meters deep and only 6 - 8 meters wide cut through the high mountain range of the Baldabrek River. This place is called Darbaza, which in Kazakh means "gate".
On a hot summer day, the narrow gorge is always cool from the river freshness in the shade of huge rocks decorated with bizarrely hanging plants. The narrowing of the rocks in the gorge serves as a natural gateway to the high-mountain world of the reserve.

Darbaza is the border of the transition area, below there are forests in the gorges and shrubs, above - juniper forests and alpine meadows.
Tourist routes to Darbaza in Aksu-Zhabagly reserve:
- 4-day horseback riding route through the reserve, about 36 kilometers long, including a walk in the Sairam gorge,
- a car trip with a walking tour along the Baldabrek gorge in the vicinity of Darbaza.
