The Atzhaksy river is a left tributary of the Zhem (Emba) river in the Aktobe region. The river is 54 kilometers long and has a catchment area of 470 square kilometers. In summer, the river is an alternation of small reaches with dry sections of the bottom.
The course in the summer low water is rare. In winter, the river freezes. When passing floods with a maximum water flow rate, flooding of the floodplain and adjacent territory is observed. The river is used for irrigation and watering cattle.
