Destinations and routes in gorge Ala-Archa.

Eastern Big Ala-Archa glacier is located in upper reaches of Ala-Archa gorge, east of Western Big Ala-Archa glacier and west of Manas glacier, 51 kilometers south and slightly west of city of Bishkek, on northern slope of Kyrgyz ridge in Alamudun region Chui region.

The glacier is separated from the Western Big Ala-Archinsky glacier by a submeridional ridge with a length of 1.5 kilometers. The sources of the glacier are located in an oval, almost closed circus with an open northern part at an altitude of 4197.2 m. a. s. l.
The glacier is 6 kilometers long, the open part of the glacier is 2.5 kilometers, the rest of the glacier is under the moraine. The headwaters of the Ala-Archa River begin from the lingual part of the glacier. The tongue of the glacier is located at an altitude of 3128 m. a. s. l.
The open area of ​​the glacier is 1.65 square kilometers. 170 meters below the open part of the glacier, at an altitude of 3476 meters, there is a moraine lake 55 meters long from south-east to north-west.
