Korgon Range.
Mountain ranges of East Kazakhstan.
“In that distant two-day glimpse, when I first joined the mountains, the sun shone during the day, and the moon at night. The snows, to which we then approached quite close, dazzled our eyes with an intolerable whiteness during the day, and burned greenish at night, as if immersed in the bottom of the ocean, filled instead of water with a somewhat more transparent, "than water, moonlight."

The Korgon Range is composed of crystalline, metamorphic schists, gneisses and tuffaceous rocks, sandstones, clayey shales, intruded by granite intrusions.
Up to an altitude of 1700 - 1800 meters above sea level, on the northern slopes, taiga of Siberian cedar, spruce and fir prevails, while tall grass meadows are common on the southern slopes. The lower slopes of the Korgon ridge of the slope are covered with fir-spruce forests, from 2200 - 2500 meters above sea level - subalpine and alpine meadows.
