The flowing, fresh lake Chokoly-Kel is located at an altitude of 3655.4 meters above sea level, located 14.7 kilometers to the east and slightly north of the Barskoon pass, on the southern slope of the Terskey Ala-Too ridge in the Jety-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region.
The length of the lake from north to south is 3.2 kilometers, the largest width in the southern part of the lake is 530 meters. The area of the lake is 0.86 square kilometers, the perimeter is 7.54 kilometers. The main filling of the lake comes from the southern slope of the Juku pass located at an altitude of 3633.3 meters above sea level.
The pass is a watershed and from here begins a small river Chokola with a length of 3.2 kilometers before flowing into the lake. In the south-eastern part of the pass there is a wetland, from where streams form to the south and north.
To the north, the Dzhuku River flows down from the pass, which flows through the Dzhuku Gorge and flows into the Pokrovsky Bay in the southeastern part of Lake Issyk-Kul. Two lakes on the southern slope of the Terskey Ala-Too ridge fill Lake Chokoly-Kel.
730 meters southwest of Lake Chokoly-Kel is Lake Chokoly-Kel West located at an altitude of 3716 meters above sea level, 560 meters long, the width of the lake in the northern part is 230 meters. The area of the lake is 0.11 square kilometers, the perimeter is 1.41 kilometers.
A small river flows out of Lake Chokoly-Kel Zapadnoye, bypassing a small lake and after 1.4 kilometers flows into Lake Chokoly-Kel. 1.2 kilometers to the east is Lake Chokoly-Kel East, located at an altitude of 3695 meters above sea level, 1.1 kilometers long, the width of the lake in the southern part is 420 meters.
The area of the lake is 0.35 square kilometers, the perimeter is 3.21 kilometers. A small river flows out of Lake Chokoly-Kel Vostochnoye, which, after 730 meters, flows into Lake Chokoly-Kel. 1.1 kilometers to the south lies Lake Chokoly-Kel South, located at an altitude of 3668.9 meters above sea level, with a length of 804 meters, the width of the lake in the southern part is 587 meters.
The area of the lake is 0.32 square kilometers, the perimeter is 2.36 kilometers. A river flows out of Lake Chokoly-Kel Yuzhnoye, which, after 600 meters, flows into the Arabel-Su River on the left. The lake is elongated and throughout its entire length repeats the relief of the gorge.
Lake Chokoly-Kel and the surrounding lakes of the same name belong to the eastern part of the Arabel valley.
