Mayakovsky Glacier is located north of the Ordzhonikidze Glacier and belongs to the type of hanging. It is embedded in the western slope of Mayakovsky peak on the south side of the Mayakovsky glacier basin. Here lies the northern slope of the mountain spur.
The glacier is named after the Russian and Soviet poet Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky - the Russian Soviet poet, one of the greatest poets of the XXth century. In addition to poetry, he brightly proved himself as a playwright, screenwriter, film director, film actor, artist, editor of the magazines "LEF", "New LEF".
