Adventure tours in Northern Tien-Shan.
“All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. Does this path have a heart? If there is, then this is a good way; if not, then it is no use. Both paths lead nowhere, but one has a heart and the other does not. One way makes the journey along it joyful: no matter how you wander, you and your path are inseparable. Another way will make you curse your life. One way gives you strength, the other destroys you.”
Carlos Castaneda.
Family tours in Zailiskiy Alatau.
Partizan Glacier - a hanging glacier located in the Maloalmatinsky Gorge, on the northern slope of the Zailiysky Alatau ridge, in the Medeu district of the city. It occupies the highest hypsometric levels in the basin, from 37100 to 4370 meters above sea level, and therefore has the most favorable conditions for its existence.
The latter is confirmed by the fact that the positive glaciation difference is more than six times higher than the negative, as well as the highest glacial coefficient (2.5). In snowy years, and even in years with normal humidity, it lies entirely in the accumulation zone; therefore, N.N. Palgov called it “a glacier consisting of one firn field”.
This glacier is the only one in the basin, free from lateral and frontal moraines.
