Meshitsu Mosque Kazankap.

Meshitsu Kazankap Mosque in Mangistau.

“There are many graves of saints, revered by the Kyrgyz and Turkmen, scattered throughout Mangyshlak. On each grave of a saint, “long poles are stuck, to which those who come to worship tie pieces of rags, etc., as a sacrifice. Hunters consider it their duty to place the heads of the argali (stone rams) they have killed on the graves of saints, and the heads of camels and horses that have served their owners well and for a long time are also placed there. Over some of the graves, strong ones made of local hewn stone have been built, with domes and inscriptions from the Koran; some have small mosques, where all the nomads nearby gather at a certain time to pray.”
