Tourist Camp "Black Stone" and "Tashkent".

Northern Tien-Shan Mountains in Kazakhstan.

"Two mountains - two giants
Protect his peace decorously.
And a little higher the third giant -
A dam lying under the sun.
Did the mind here see or become exhausted,
When they breathed with a noble goa
Those who erected the dam across
The Maloalmatinsky Gorge?"

Zhuban Moldagaliev. "Almatinka". Translated by V. Savelyev.

Natural zones of Zailiyskiy Alatau Mountains.

Two tourist camp for climbers and mountain tourists "Tashkent" and "Black Stone" are located at an altitude of 3235 meters above sea level, in upper reaches of Small Almaty Gorge, on northern slope of  Zailiyskiy Alatau ridge in the district of Almaty.
Above the beginning of the trail to glade "Alpingrad", between the right slope and the moraines of the Tuyuksu glacier, there are two more campsites - "Tashkent" and "Black Stone". The "Tashkent" campsite is a small, closed grassy area, not blown by the winds.
Therefore, the campsite is warm, like in Tashkent. The "Black Stone" campsite is located higher and is named so for the characteristic large dark-colored stone. From these campsites, ascents are made to the peaks of the Tuyuksu glacier cirque, located in the Malo-Almatinsky spur, or difficult passes are passed in the Malo-Almatinsky spur, south of M. Mametova peak, leading to the Left Talgar gorge.
