Signal tower Kuyanchik-say is located on the natural Kuyanchik hill 148.5 meters above sea level, located in the southwestern part of the Kekiliktau mountains, 389 meters northwest of the dry channel of the Kempirsay ravine, 3 kilometers from the right (eastern) bank of the river Amu Darya, 2.6 kilometers northeast of the village of Karatau on the territory of the administration of the city of Nukus in the Republic of Karkalpakstan.
The Kuyanchik-sai signal tower dates back to the Xth - early XIIth centuries. It was studied in 1965 by the Sultanuizdag archaeological detachment of the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Karakalpak Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The tower has survived to a height of more than 8 meters and has a shape of 4.8 x 4.6 meters. It was built of adobe bricks measuring 32 - 33 x 32 - 33 x 5 - 6 cm, on clay mortar with a high content of fine crushed stone from portfolio.
Functionally, the tower is connected with the settlement at the site of the Dzhanpyk-kala settlement. No restoration and conservation work has been carried out. The monument is subject to severe destruction as a result of blasting operations and the collapse of the walls as a result of the washing away of the Amu Darya dam.
