Mausoleum of Kasym ata.

Travels in cities of Kazakhstan.

“In the bluish distance, where the last visible hill merged with the fog, nothing moved; the guard and burial mounds, which rose here and there above the horizon and the boundless steppe, looked stern and dead; centuries and complete indifference to man were felt in their stillness and soundlessness; Another thousand years will pass, billions of people will die, and they will still stand as they stood, not at all sorry for the dead, not interested in the living, and not a single soul will know why they are standing and what secret of the steppe they are hiding under them."

A.P. Chekhov. "Happiness". Dedicated to Ya.P. Polonsky.

Tours from Astana to Pavlodar.

The mausoleum of Kasym ata is located at an altitude of 161 meters above sea level, located on the eastern edge of the Kyzylkum sands, 19.5 kilometers west of the left bank of the Syrdarya River, 17.6 kilometers west and slightly south of the village named after Mashbek Nalibaev (Akzhol) , 12.8 kilometers west and a little south of the village of Abdigappar, 8.2 kilometers west and a little north of the Tolegatay-baba complex, in the Zhanakorgan district of the Kyzylorda region.
The mausoleum of Kasym ata is located on the dry bed of the Oguz-zhilgasy. The area is replete with sandy hills overgrown with saxaul. On one of them is the ruined mausoleum of Kasym ata. More than half a century ago, during the inspection of the mausoleum by Vasily Kallaur, he recorded a collapsed dome (why the mausoleum was called "Kumbezy oyuk" or "Tobesy oyuk").
This feature of the mausoleum gave rise to a legend about a hunter who hunted birds, but every time the bird he shot fell on the dome of the mausoleum, from where he could not get it. The angry hunter cursed the mausoleum, and its dome collapsed.
