The fact that the museum bears the names of outstanding Kazakh writers and fighters for Kazakh independence - Akhmet Baitursynov and Myrzhakyp Dulatov does not cause any surprise.
Akhmet Baitursynov, a dean from the leaders of the national liberation movement of the Kazakh people at the beginning of the twentieth century, a member of the Alash-Orda government, a reformer of Kazakh spelling, the founder of grammar and theory of Kazakh literature.
Before the revolution, he was known as a teacher, Turkologist and translator. He strove for the freedom of the Kazakh people, and fought for an independent state. Akhmet Baitursynov became an innocent victim of Stalin's repressions in 1937.
Mirzhakyp Dulatov is the leader of the Alash Horde. He is a poet, writer, journalist, educator, public figure, spoke under the slogan - "Wake up, Kazakh!" At the end of 1928 he was arrested and sentenced to 10 years and died in 1935 in the Solovetsky camp.
On June 6 - 7, 1991, at the republican level in Turgay, the days of Akhmet Baitursynov and Mirzhakip Dulatov were held, a scientific and theoretical conference was held. It was attended by specialists in the field of literature and art, culture, language and psychology.
The conference was attended by: Manash Kozybaev, Abish Kekilbaev, Syrbai Maulenov, Gafu Kairbekov, Umirzak Sultangazin and other famous people of the country. After 57 years, the works of Akhmet Baitursynov and Mirzhakip Dulatov were returned to their homeland, a museum dedicated to fellow countrymen, leaders of the Alash movement was opened in the regional center.
The museum serves the people and educates the younger generation. The monument to the leaders of Alash on a high bronze pedestal in front of the museum attracts the attention of visitors. After 60 years, valuable exhibits, documents and archives of the museum have become a living cultural heritage for the benefit of people.
The museum is a symbolic beginning, to show the achievements of Alikhan Bokeikhanov, Magzhan Zhumabayev, Zhusupbek Aimautov, Shakarim Kudaiberdiev are called upon to realize the future of the country, the future of the people and the duty to the future generation.
